        Calls for Board Nominations

        Individuals dedicated to public protection, including licensed professionals and members of the public, are needed from throughout New York State to serve on the Professional State boards/committees. Board members assist the Board of Regents and the State Education Department to help ensure the highest quality of professional preparation and practice. Depending on the needs of the particular board, members may assist and advise on licensing requirements, and practice issues, and they serve an important role in disciplinary proceedings of professionals.? They may also be asked to provide outreach to communities, programs and other interested parties. Professional board members must be New York State-licensed and currently registered professionals who are residents of the State. Public members are required to be or have been consumers of the service of the board. A board member is appointed by the Board of Regents for a five-year term and may be reappointed for a second term.

        Acupuncture

        The Department is actively soliciting nominations for individuals interested in appointment as public members of the State Board for Acupuncture. The current vacancies on the Board are for two public members. Public members must be consumers of professional acupuncture services and may not hold interests in the organization, financing, or delivery of acupuncture services.         Applied Behavior Analysis

        The Department is actively soliciting nominations for individuals interested in an appointment as a licensed behavior analyst, certified behavior analyst assistant, psychologist or public representative of the State Board for Applied Behavior Analysis. All professional members must be eligible for licensure. Public representative members must be consumers of professional Applied Behavior Analysis services and may not hold interests in the organization, financing, or delivery of Applied Behavior Analysis services.         Clinical Laboratory Technology

        The Department is soliciting nominations for individuals interested in appointment as a professional or public representative member of the State Board for Clinical Laboratory Technology. Professional members must be licensed and currently registered as clinical laboratory technologists, certified clinical laboratory technicians, cytotechnologists or certified histological technicians. Public representative members must be consumers of professional clinical laboratory technology services and may not hold interests in the organization, financing, or delivery of clinical laboratory technology services. The Department is actively seeking the nomination of public representatives and two (2) licensed and registered cytotechnologists at this time.
